Our co-op owes it's existence to the volunteers who have already donated countless hours of hard work.
For us, volunteering is about more than just free labour. We are passionate about producing food and we want to share that passion. Greengrow exists to encourage and facilitate local food production and it's enjoyment. Selling veg boxes is a part of that - it provides an income to keep the project alive, as well as making locally produced food available to people in the area. Equally important to us is our community's ability to participate in food production and share knowledge and skills. That's why we set up Grow Your Own.
With Grow Your Own you can have direct participation in the production of your food. Help out in the market garden and recieve a share of the harvest. You can come once a week, once a month or whenever you get a half-day free from your other commitments. By joining in a team effort you get the benefits of fresh allotment-grown produce without the regular time commitment and experience that a successful allotment demands.
We also rely on volunteers for our infrastructure projects and maintenance tasks. These are great opportunities to learn new skills or share skills you already have.
If you would like to volunteer then please contact us.
