Following the success of our Growing Futures grant application work has been underway ove the past few months - the greenhouse is well on the way to completion and given the three months of rain we have just had, has been a vital addition to the project. Trainees have learnt basic joinery and blocklaying, as well as getting to grips with glazing. Thanks to the Awards for All grant we have also been able to offer a ten week carpentry apprenticeship to one volunteer, who has been getting to grips with various construction projects around the site. He said, ''This has been a brilliant opportunity for me. I have been wanting to get into the trade for a long time, but haven't had any way in or any skills to offer. Now I have learnt so much, and right after finishing this I was offered my first carpentry job. I feel that my life is really getting back on track''.

Our thanks to our onsite volunteer joiner, Todd, who has been sharing his expertise, and to all our volunteers for their enthusiasm and hard work in putting their new found skills into practice.
