Members of Greengrow had cause for celebration when Common Ground Co-operative was allowed permission to build a temporary dwelling on its site at Clarkes Lane in Ilketshall St Andrew. Waveney District Council Planning Committee voted to support the plans for a low impact temporary dwelling at its meeting in February.
The house is essential to Greengrow's success as it will provide housing for one of our key workers and her family. It will enable us to push ahead with our integrated land management plan, which relies on intensively managed grazing to build fertility, something we would be unable to do without a constant presence.
The house will be built by Common Ground, with much of the work being taken on by Hayley and Todd, who will be moving into the house as soon as it is signed off by building control.
I'd like to thank everyone in the local community who supported our application and extend a warm welcome to the village to Hayley and her family.
