In 2011 we were granted temporary planning permission for a family dwelling for three years on the grounds of agricultural necessity. Our resulting self-build is a small, off-grid and efficient house. The electricity supply is solar, all sewerage is composted, waste water is processed by a reed bed system and the heating and hot water are powered by a wood burning stove.
